The Democratic party lost again----in more ways that just the Presidential bid. They lost both Senate and House seat(s) opportunities also. Listed below are what I believe to be the 10 Fundamental Reasons Why Kerry really lost the election. Maybe the Democratic Party will finally "get-it" someday? In Summary: 1. Waffling 2. Far Left Wing Wallets 3. A severely fragmented Democratic Party 4. Terry McAuliffe 5. Wrong Candidate for the Wrong Time 6. Ted Kennedy 7. Complaint Lists don't work 8. No Resume (or references!) 9. A Conservative America 10. Personality, Personality, Personalty (OR lack of) Let me expand a little...... 1. Waffling John Kerry NEVER clearly articulated what his position really was on any issue for the most part. Sure, we all have heard the commercial and expression time and time again about him voting "for" the $87 Billion before he voted "against" it. But seriously folks, John Kerry's entire campaign was predicated on trying to play BOTH sides of most issues and this resulted in campaign messaging themes that were CONFUSING and INCONSISTENT. 2. Far Left Wing Wallets Unfortunately (For John Kerry) there were too many far left wing elitists that tried to drive his agenda. You know who I mean, the Michael Moores and George Soros of the left wing world who really are out of touch with middle America and their own Democratic Party. Have another Cheeseburger Michael! (I hear they make them much better in Canada!). 3. A severely fragmented Democratic Party. The fact of the matter is that the Democratic Party is currently comprised of 3 sub-segments that are NOT singing at all in unison. On one end there is the "The "Left-Wing" faction, which is comprised of a handful of rich elitists who represent only a few votes but try to control the agenda with distorted views that are NOT consistent at all with the greater mainstream Democratic populous. On the other end are the so-called "Reagan Democrats" who just demonstrated (again) that they indeed have a strong plurality in many Red and "LIGHT-Blue" states like Pennsylvania, Ohio, Michigan and Wisconsin. And finally stuck somewhere in the middle is the "Mainstream Democratic Party" which is losing its identity quickly. In fact, what really is the mainstream Democratic platform and priorities these days? Clearly, trying to politically market to all 3 of these segments is a messy job with the results of the last election clearly showing it. 4. Terry McAuliffe (The DNC chairman---soon to be hopefully the EX-DNC chairman!) is reason #4. Need I say more? This guy was a loser from the beginning. He's not a strategist; he's not an open-minded thinker; he certainly NOT a uniter (and I'm referring to the Democratic Wing!). Good-bye Terry. Don't forget to take your hat and please close the door behind you! 5. Wrong Candidate for the Wrong Time The DNC ran the wrong candidate and they certainly know it now. Sure, John Kerry mustered up 56 Million votes on Election Day 2004, however there were probably 2 other candidates who had a much better shot at getting at least another 3.5 Million more votes. Seriously. Unfortunately, the deep pockets of the far left wing kicked in along with the intellectually bankrupt leadership of the DNC which ultimately kicked out the "real" candidates. 6. Ted Kennedy. The Democratic Party needs to quit taking advise from "has-beens" like Ted Kennedy. Let's be honest here folks, his views are clearly outdated and more importantly, do not in the least represent mainstream America or even the mainstream of the Democratic Party anymore. Good-bye Ted and try some of those Cheeseburgers that Michael Moore is eating these days in Canada. 7. Complaint Lists don't work John Kerry's idea of his "Action Plan" throughout his campaign was nothing more than a complaint list on George Bush and his administration's efforts over the past 4 years. I mean, c'mon folks, the first time Kerry did this may have been cute but it wore out quickly----even with most members of his own Democratic Party. The American people are not as shallow and simple minded as the arrogant John Kerry thought they were. They wanted to see the real red meat from the Kerry camp. Where was the real beef John?? (Probably being consumed in massive quantities by Michael Moore). 8. No Resume (or references!) John Kerry is no leader and his resume showed it. It didn't take long for most of the American Public to figure this guy out. No real leadership record or major accomplishments after spending 20 years in the Senate. However he is a very good debator---but apparently has a very difficult time differentiating fact from fiction. Again, was this the best candidate that the DNC was able to bring forward? 9. A Conservative America consists of a much larger, moderate to conservative landscape than what the DNC and John Kerry thought or still care to admit for that matter. Just look at that map of the election day results. Lots of Red states and in fact, take a look at the "county level" depiction of "Red versus Blue" and what you discover very quickly is that the so-called "blue states" are not so blue after all. Maybe light blue and quickly turning red. To the new DNC chairman: "Can you spell Pennsylvania, Michigan, Wisconsin, New Jersey, New Hampshire?" Can you do arithmetic? That spells 67 electoral votes in my book. (These states would look really nice dressed in Red by 2008!). 10. Personality, Personality, Personalty (OR lack thereof) John Kerry's personality. Let's face it, does this even need a discussion. John Kerry's personality never really connected with the American Public. Good-bye John.
