If you saw the fairly long post election press conference Bush had, you would wonder if it was the same person as the first debate. Some alternate theories : People have mis-underestimated George again - meaning a lot of it was an act. GWB really does has significant stage fright, sometimes to where he sounds really dense. Karl Rove sometimes allows the later to get the former.... BTW, I voted for Kerry, even if he's a liberal weiner. **** I really doubt that "close allies no longer feel safe" I doubt they will put their jet fighters on alert... The chattering classes have their panties in a knot. They can make a lot of symbolic and minor actions. I don't think Germany will stop selling us Porches. Might be a good opportunity if some Europeans dump some US investments....somehow I doubt we'll see that.
