Agreed. I often think that religion has spawned more violence than anything else. Ironically, the greatest instigator of mass outbreaks of peace continues to be greed and market economics.

However, again you missed the gist of my post, which was that Christians in America feel that the what made this country great was that it was founded on Christian ideals and Hollywood and other liberal activists are assaulting that foundation. That's what they feel, right or wrong. I am a little more practical, but believe that societies need a strong moral foundation to ensure its productivity and longevity. Sociological studies have shown that high performance teams and societies usually have some form of binding ideology that everyone believes in. This acts as the glue within the society and taboos act to curtail anti-social behavior which might threaten that society.

The glue that has bound America together seems to have disintigrated. We need to find more glue. Going back to our Christian roots seems a good way to do that to me.
