RE: "evangelical Christians" What is evangelical Christian? Is it the Born Again religion? Or, is it an umbrella terminology and if so, of what? As I understand the term, evangelical Christians, its Christians who are the most zealous at expressing their religion and trying to convert others. They tend to be Protestants.......mostly Baptists. For an example, there are people across the street who brought over a Jesus video when I moved into my place. I was quite surprised. Later, they encouraged me to attend their church never once asking me what my status was in terms of religion or even if I were Christian or not. Not surprising, they were the first to put up a Bush/Cheney sign on the street. Another interesting observation.......not long after I declined their offer to attend their church, I was in a local bank and the husband was in line but I hadn't noticed. When I looked up and saw him looking at me, I saw this powerful look of hate on his face. It was a mind blower.......I have to assume he was annoyed that I had turned down their offer to be 'saved'. In any case, that's my understanding of evangelical Christians........they are not as bad as fundamentalists but I don't think they are not that far behind. ted
