Thank you Ish for your suggestion. The VA already gave me a prescription to enroll at a place called Aquatic Physical Therapy. I went and was evaluated. Never heard from them except that they tried 4 times to verify info that was given me by the eligibility & enrollment guy at the VA. They tried to reach him and left messages for him 4 times, neither he nor a gofer ever returned the calls once. F**k 'em. I feel like I'm caught in a whirl pool in the ocean when dealing with anything the gov't comes up with. F**k 'em twice.

I came up with my own pain control. On my foot, I'm using a topical cream several times a day called "BLUE-EMU" pain relief cream. I got it at Walmart, but it is not a Walmart brand so it may be available other places; at least similar products probably are. Some restrictions on use like not being pregnant, not on open skin, no internal use, etc. The active ingredients are menthol 10% and methyl salicylate 15% and it has Johnson's Emu oil 7%, Aloe, MSM & Glucosamine; I also use ice, and keep the foot warm and elevated rest almost all the balance of time. Also several times a day I have some stretching exercises to do. The VA podiatrist had the prosthetics dep't order a special heel cup, but I'm not holding my breath until the right thing comes in and fits like they promised.

Hopefully I'll be able to walk pain free eventually. Though no bets placed yet. So far, I'm relatively pain free until I put weight on the foot, like walking the few steps to the kitchen to use the microwave, or to go to the bathroom for bathing and toilet use. The most pain is first time out of bed upon waking. It is typical though for this condition. The medical name is "Planar Fasciaitis(sp??)". The Planar Fascia looks to me sort of like the mate to your Achilles tendon, but hooked to the bottom of your heel and goes forward to join or form your arch. One contribution to my problem is no arches. Feet flat as a pancake since birth. The right foot finally gave up. :(
