I very much doubt that is what the study actually says and if it does then the study is simply wrong. Most likely the study shows that women often fail to win elections or even to get selected as a major parties candidate. That is not the same thing as not being allowed to participate.

If different people reading the same script get different reactions that is also not a sign that woman are not allowed to participate.

Like Tejek you see one thing that you consider bad, and attack it as something else other than what it really is. If you believe there is a problem with female candidates not getting respect or being treated equally then complain about that problem but don't confuse the issue by saying they are not allowed to participate when they are allowed to do so.
