There are a few areas that are overwhelmingly partisan for one side or the other (for example DC is overwhelmingly Democrat) but most areas, even ones that consistently vote for one party or the other, are pretty mixed, even if the mix is 60/40, or 65/35.

And I don't think most individuals who vote one side or the other don't have as exaggerated of opinion as what you can frequently see expressed on SI.
