Well, I don't know about that. But, I do think that perhaps Gore might have warned the nation about CIA warnings regarding a growing terrorist threat. Imagine if Gore had gone on TV and warned about the PDB he received in August, 2001 regarding Al Queda's intention to attack the U.S. That would have set into motion a whole chain of events that might have detected and prevented 9/11.

Of course, many on this thread believe that Bush knew about 9/11 in advance and just let it happen for his own political purposes (something I strongly suspect). Actually, looking at the bigger picture as it emerges, it looks even more likely as though Bush just sat back and let 9/11 happen. Some call the CIA's warnings in the August, 2001 PDB just an update to Bush regarding the grand plan soon to unfold. The reason I say this is because Bush's own biographer recently revealed that he had a converstations with Bush in 1999 in which Bush talked about attacking Iraq and wanting to be seen as a strong Commander In Chief by the American people. Well, 9/11 allowed him to do just that. It does make you wonder if he just sat there and let it all unfold. Obviously, there were no repercussions for doing so. Noone in his adminstration has been punished for incompetence leading up to and during the day of 9/11/01. Heads should have rolled for that huge blunder, like the Joints Chiefs of Staff and the National Security Advisor. But, they didn't, life went on as though it was just another day, which makes it seem even more suspect. Bush apparently didn't care that his underlings failed him on 9/11/01, because 9/11 was the best thing that ever happened to him.

Besides this bizarre 9/11 incident, I'm sure Gore would have been much more pro-environment, pro-labor, more of a coalition builder, maintained our relations with other countries better, etc. Those screw ups in Florida during the 2000 election altered American history and the direction of our country.
