George Wallace had the support of the majority of the population of Alabama when he fought civil rights in the 60s. Liberal courts backed by liberal presidents advanced the rights of minorities during the epic civil rights battles of the 60s. Was that wrong?

Exactly how does extending rights to minorities "completely suppress the rights of the vast majority"? Perhaps it annoys the vast majority, but what rights are suppressed?

I happen live in a fairly conservative neighborhood. A lesbian couple owns a home down the street. Exactly what rights of mine, or those of anyone else, are being suppressed by them being together, owning a home together or marrying, if that's what they choose?

but it never meant to do so to the exclusion of the majority's preference. Certain narrow segments in the USA want to completely suppress the rights of the vast majority who don't agree with them.
