I just hope that casualties are light. A forlorn hope probably. For some reason the insurgents think it's good to have a big fight with the USA forces here.

Yet back in 1990, after the first Gulf War, it's generally agreed that the Coalition forces screwed up when they didn't completely de fang the Iraqi forces in "Desert Storm". This allowed Saddam to continue with such a frightful reign of terror, the West had to re intervene. Much against the wishes of George Bush 1 and collegues.
