I have heard more than once that Arafat knew he would have been assassinated. Who killed Rabin and why? Who killed Sadat and why? I don't have any doubt that 'leaders' are corrupt. Arafat is corrupt as is Sharon and Bush and Putin and Blair. They are more like each other than they are like their average constituent. Bush has not accounted for nearly $10 billion of Iraqi oil money under the CPA. The word is that, after the handing over of sovereignty (martial law declared!) the corruption in the Allawi government has become truly rampant. How does it get more rampant than $10 billion of Iraqi oil money unaccounted for? Bechtel's taking of money for a project which they didn't even do is close. The Army Corps of Engineers did the project but Bechtel got paid for it so we paid DOUBLE. That's on top of subsidizing Iraqis for their oil and on top of paying $700 for hotel rooms and embroidering gym towels for KBR.
