Goverment intervetion that prevents competition at the national level is capitalism? That's a new one on me.

What?!? There is no "prevention" of competition? Please explain precisely in what way the bill "prevents competition"?

Big drug spends about $30B/year on researh and development. That's about 15% of revenue. All of that money gets strong incentive tax treatment, and % wise is not unlike other high tech businesses.

And a lot of it goes down the tubes for drugs that don't get through the obscene regulatory process, for drugs that just don't work, and everything else.

So we should subsidize them by removing competition at the national level?

There you go again.

If the industry needs subsidies let's manage these rather than issue a blank check to the industry.

There is nothing in this legislation resembling a "subsidy".

You have said nothing of the voting and cost suppression scandals. I can understand that you may be embarassed by the lack of integrity.

Now what?
