TechieGuy-alt - Indeed. Mirrorbit hasn't exactly come out of the gates like a quarter horse. It'll get there, I'm sure, but a speedier ramp and adoption would sure be nice.

"Let's wait to see products and product specs coupled with availability and delivery on their time line before hyperventalating about its future potential."

Can't help myself on this one. AMD is already well down the pathway on this world-leading flash product. You've already seen the MirrorBit base and its double digit growth last quarter. In a way, it is much more of a reality than was Opteron 1-1/2 years ago when AMD posted that roadmap.

If you like Opteron's evolution, I suspect you're really gonna like MirrorBit's evolution!

Sure is nice to have such roadmaps as Opteron and MirrorBit in place, especially when "hard data" in place already (i.e. product lineup) reinforces the prospects of such huge potential going forward!

Whu not be excited? Who else has two such compelling roadmaps in place.

There is an old saying: Plan the work and then work the plan.

Well, in contrast to many companies that are never able to really get a grasp on the 1st half of that statement, AMD not only has its plans (Opteron and MirrorBit) in place but is well on the way to working both plans real hard!

Again, that press release is a huge statement, particularly coming from AMD with its very positive Opteron track record already in place!

Lighten up! Accept the possibility that this press release might even turn out to be an understatement! That would certainly be consistent with what I'm seeing around AMD these days!

Precisely. And I am wary that bullish statements about the middle and future distance for flash seem a lot easier for Ruiz (AMD) than specific statements about the next three months.

I hope this slice of "pie in the sky" was not intended as a counterpoint to some negative news about flash in the current quarter and/or 1Q.
