Karen- Give me the odds on 9-10-01 that the Twin Towers would be
reduced to rubble the next day. Billion to 1 ???

At least.

However, the odds on that happening there on that day were more or less the same as the Golden Gate Bridge or Kennedy Jr. High in Peoria or the mall down the street from you or any other structure in the country on any other day. Would you have felt justified calling for the evacuation of your mall on that day or any other day based on a billion to one odds? How would you choose the building to evacuate? How would you choose the day? How do you dare leave your house? How do you dare remain in the country? That billion to one could get you, after all.

Whoops. Gotta run. There is one chance in a billion that there will be an earthquake under my house in the next few minutes so I need to get outta here.... <g>

Good point Rick....The same type person who won't prepare for an earthquake, or major storm, or a disaster, will continue to expect the government to "fix everything"....same kind that thinks medical insurance is for "other people" not them.... Those folks would rather get a new TV or other gadget, until they need help, then it is up to 'the village' to get them out of their current situation.

A good bet is that none of us ever thought the WTC would be reduced to rubble... but that all of us have considered what we would do if we have a major natural disaster of some sort...

Having bandaids on hand isn't too helpful in a major disaster.
