No, I don't think it's ok. However, if a bunch of Muslims in Detroit suddenly decide they want to form an Islamic state there and secede from the U.S., I'd have a problem with that, but I wouldn't do anything except shake my head in bewilderment and disgust.

The Chechens were once free but were brought under the Russian thumb during the Bolshevik revolution. When Russia fell apart in the early 90s, like other formerly independent states under the USSR banner, the Chechens declared their independence. Fighting broke out between the Chechens and Russians. After a decade of turmoil, the Chechens were told they could be an independent state. However, the Russians rigged the election. Fighting has broken out again. It must be remembered that Chechnya is relatively mineral rich and has oil.

Chechnya is part of Russia. The Muslims have no right to secede. If they want a state of their own with Sharia law, they can go to Saudi Arabia where one exists. Muslims need to learn to get along in whatever country they find themselves. There are many societies that may seem Godless to them, but that doesn't give them the right to turn violent and try to sieze the land for themselves to create and Islamic state.

Sorry, the Chechens don't see that way.
