"Yes, the big war for America was actually against the Japanese. However, D-Day was the largest mobilization of American forces since the American Civil war. And we did it to help free Europe."

The take in my history book was that Russians were advancing on one front on Hitler, Churchill saw his value system more alligned with Rosewelt and America joined in (Perl harbor made it easier). America did it to save western europe mostly from potential Russian dominance. My history books did portray America as a victim of unprovoked attack on perl harbor, but the A-bomb response was deemed overly excessive. Its interesting how different historians have their own spin.

"I didn't claim you were Muslim. As far as the comparison of modern Christianity to Islam, check back on many of my recent posts. I address that in several of them"

Not sure why I interpreted it as such. I will follow up on other posts on the thread regarding your views on christianity.

"I believe he might have taken a different approach, one resulting in our departure and energy independence."

I am not convinced. He's (or most president in last 20 years) doesnt seem too interested in reducing our dependencies on Oil. We clearly knew the problem since Carter and after 25 years we are still stuck with this oil economy - That is inexcusable IMO.

Bum.
