And in your opinion, what is an appropriate PARENTAGE ? Appropriate parentage is legal presence in the US. We currently award citizenship to anyone born on US turf. I think we should deny that citizenship if the location of birth is the result of an illegal act. From an moral perspective, we should not be enabling profit from an illegal act. From a systems perspective, we intractably complicate our problem with illegals by having split citizenship in the family.
