My point wasn't about how close Blue states were. A number of them were close but so where a few Red states. The reason why I posted it was that I was surprised that Bush's main gain in support from 2000 was in urban areas. Traditionally Republicans don't do as well in urban areas.

There is no question he improved in that group, but he improved with almost all groups. That would be expected given the increase in votes from 2000.
