The board is certainly cultish enough and needs balance.> I have been reading some of the people on this board for the longest time, from when they were all on the old Gold & Silver Mining thread before GT came over and ruined it, through Russ' Precious & Base Metals thread, to this board. I have never seen the group-think as concentrated and defined as it is now. Different boards serve different purposes, I guess. This one seems to have decided as a group on the best stocks to own in the gold bull, and spends much of the chatter on positive reinforcement of each other about those stocks. That is not necessarily a bad thing. However, it is important to understand the dynamics of any group so you can define your own role and participation. By far the most important thing to note about the board is this: if you are not interested in Ormetal stocks, specifically those Ormetal stocks enthusiastically recommended by Claude, then you will not find much value here. I am a lifetime subscriber to Ormetal and hold the group-stocks pumped ad nauseum here, so I don't mind the positive reinforcement. But if you are looking for a more wide-ranging discussion of stocks outside the Ormetal universe, you might check other boards for that purpose. Coach247, for example, has an excellent board (smartinvestment.ca) that tries to do that. TSL (or was it Jhong?), I believe once said to you that complaining about the group-think on this board is like going to a football game and then becoming offended when the fans root and cheer for the home team. No truer analogy was ever made. The 'home' stocks on this board are,... well you know. The board roots and cheers for those stocks. Period.
