we exist by the grace of the US only because we are no trouble... and have never had any continental aspirations...

Do you think it would behoove us to play house with China then?

That is perhaps the most objectionable post I have seen on this thread. Please explain what we would do with Nukes as you so cutely describe them.

Canada doesn't need nuclear weapons or any army or anything for that matter. The only threat we might have is the USA because we share no border with any other country except France which is 10 miles off our eastern shore. No one else ever bothers us. No one bothers Costa Rica and they don't exist by the grace of the USA. They have no army and they have one of the best health care systems in the world because they don't need to waste money on military expenditures.

Canada should stay neutral as it mostly has tried to do in the past. Canada has a role as peacekeeper and the conscience of our southern neighbors.

Disclaimer: The above opinion is not baiting right wingers or left wingers or anyone. There is nothing at all political in the post and it is solely a response to a discussion started by others. No one asked my opinion but then again no one asked the person who started it their opinion either. There is nothing inflammatory in my post and it is not aimed at anyone in particular and no one should take offense over it.
