Martha Stewart asks company to help with legal costs

NEW YORK Martha Stewart is asking the company she founded to cover her three-point-seven (m) million-dollar legal bill.
Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia Incorporated disclosed the request yesterday in a regulatory filing. The Securities and Exchange Commission filing says it'll now go to an "independent expert on Delaware law."

Her company says it believes insurance would cover the costs if Stewart's request is granted.

Stewart's serving the second month of her five-month prison sentence. She was convicted of lying to investigators about stock she sold in 2001.
