[I originally came from Beijing.]

Hey, cuz! -s

[by that time, China will be no need for using force. Just by some economic embargo or things like that, Taiwan would have a very hard time.]

That makes sense to me and is pretty much what I expected.

[went to Taiwan in 1949 with her husband (my uncle) who was in Guomindang’s airforce then. I am on a very good term with all my cousins, and my aunt. Well, I guess maybe because they are “WaiShengRen”<g>]

lol .. yeah I know how the older generation sure has all these issues over Japan, China, the fleeing Nationalists, the native Taiwanese, etc. My ancestors evidently went to Taiwan long, long before '49. My grandfather was the chief of police in Tainan (very pro-Japan - and sent his oldest son to study there in the mid-30s - he came back an expert in mahjong, go, gambling, womanizing, and laziness -s - but not in business). Grandfather turned his back to the Nationalists. Very proud man. My uncle spent several years on Green Island with the other rebellious college students. Rather then support the new arrivals, my grandfather gave up his position and took the opposite tack (hiding college kids at their house - with four attractive daughters it was probably not a bad place to be hiding though -s).

All water under the bridge. Fortunately, time heals all things and especially when it is a dispute between one people.

Hey, we can still talk man -bg-

Thx for the response
