OK, can I rewrite? -s-

<<It is VERY easy to be sympathetic but I choose not to be when they are essentially mercenaries (albeit the worst paid mercenaries in human history -s-) hired to fight in a foreign land.>>

I understand what you're saying and agree wholeheartedly. WHOLEHEARTEDLY. But, if Americans can tacitly approve and accept the destruction and murder of people by our government then I can't be gung ho about "supporting the troops". Every life is equivalent. Whether it is some Ethiopian, Iraqi, or whatever. One life, a thousand, a million, the value of life is no more than that accorded every life, without exception. This should be the rule. I don't need a bible or religion to understand that.

Let's have a draft made up entirely of the children of the wealthiest people. Betcha policy ends up quite a bit different in that scenario.

Very true ... your average grunt signed up to defend America, not Haliburton.

Will be interesting to see how long they can keep this particular scam going ... <g/ng>
