Demoralization is part of the Republican plan. Why else would they run obscene deficits, underfund domestic programs, look the other way when something like 9/11 was in the works, and constantly engage in war? It's all part of their grand plan to make the average American schmoo feel powerless, so they feel like there's no choice but to support the Republican agenda. The plan is paying huge dividens in 2004.

You have to hand it to the Republicans. They have figured out how to propagandize the American people into accepting their "values" and their "vision" of government. They're not stupid (even if Bush is). They have a big grand plan for the American rich, and they stick to it and modify it over time to achieve their goals. Now, those goals have been acheived. They've turned America into a debtor nation, a miltiaristic nation, a nation engaged in constant war, a nation at war with itself, a nation consumed with religion. While the cats away, the mice will play.
