<One day, some issue, some where, the US will stand alone because no one else will stand with it.>

Lets identify and discuss those issues -- We devote our attention to Iraq, and the reasons are obvious. But at the same time, the world faces other serious issues that are left unattended -- foreign policy issues that have enormous impact on Americans and everybody else on the planet. They are rarely if ever discussed. Did you see anything about the global economy here lately? Did you see anything about global environmental issues? It seems to me that we, on this thread focus too narrowly on Iraq as the only aspect of foreign policy worth discussing. Are we really discussing foreign policy, or are we watching Monday night football in Iraq -- are we engaging in some sort of gross spectator sport and calling it a discussion on foreign policy? Our foreign policy has roots that extend deeply into economic and environmental issues -- all we do is debate the wisdom and value of killing people in Iraq. There is more to foreign policy. You seem especially bright and intellectually engaged -- is it time to look at the bigger picture?
