Don't know. You will have to ask that company (apexdigitals.com). The chances are Chinese manufactures got paid nothing for those 4 players. All the money are gone to those 2 crooks. I have a Apex 32-Inch pure flat TV, and a DVD player, they work great! and quite a few friends of mine also no complains. And I saw a little complains on the Internet about Apex DVD players, and considering their market share, I should say they are good quality, especially when think about the price. I guess you are just bad luck, or maybe they specially choose some bad ones for Black Friday sale?<g>
