The more tax breaks the merrier. You erroneously think government has a right to other people's money. The refusal to tax people is not a "perc." It allow Americans to work while also allowing people to keep their hard-earned money. I have a boat. I know firsthand that if the boat exists, someone has to pay a constant stream of dollars to a variety of sources to maintain it, even if it is rarely used. If the boat is used, then even more dollars must be paid to even more people. If you tax the Dickens out of boats, then people will not buy them. This means boat manufacturers will not build them, which means component manufacturers will not build and must fire workers. And the entire boating support structure will suffer.

That support structure is quite large. Pick up the radio on your boat and begin to talk. Humans will talk back to you and there are lots of dollars supporting them to make sure they stick around. I cruised to Catalina recently on a friend's boat. It took us six hours one way, roughly twelve hours on the water both ways. In that one twelve hour period, we spent many thousands of dollars in fuel provided by American human workers, making messes that would have to be cleaned by a group of American humans, eating food provided by American humans, creating wear and tear that must ultimately be repaired by some team of American humans. Once at Catalina, we spent many more thousands of dollars for goods and services provided by American humans, goods and services that would not have been consumed had there been no boat (don't know if you've ever been to the place, but without boats, Catalina would be sunk). We met many other people at Catalina who also had boats and who were consuming the same goods and services provided by American humans.

Now should you foolishly tax this system because you think you have a right to steal other people's money, you will certainly steal someone's job to boot.

A tax break is no "perc." It is simply deciding to allow people to keep what they have a right to keep.
