<the moral context you do> I am not moralizing, although I can understand why you might think so. I am lammenting the stupidity and ineffectiveness of the Government of the United States and the misguided, narrown and misfocused foreign policy they crafted and implemented in Iraq, and the policies they failed to craft and implement elsewhere. We elect leaders -- they have a job. We just relected them and they have our blessing to lead. That is the way it works. But the results in Iraq are tragic. Could it get better? There is no reason to expect that more of the same will work. If you ask whether critics will acknowledge improvement if it occurs the answer is "yes" for thoughtful people and "no" for political hacks.
