Did you never hear of Joe McCarthy? And even if he didn't exist, the right has been jawboning the-not-strong-on-communist issue about liberals for nearly 70 years. 1 - Joe McCarthy wouldn't qualify under the category of "others on the left". Neither would "the right" That's right.......how much opposition did McCarthy get from the right? It was only when Eisenhower put his foot down did McCarthy get drop kicked to the curb. By then the damage was serious. 2 - Joe McCarthy was blasted by the left and eventually by many on the right. If McCarthy had been going after Nazis instead of communists I doubt the left would have been as eager to condemn him. The same with the right. Tim, there is too much the-poor-little-me in your presentations. No "poor-little-me", I'm just fine as is conservatism. Pointing out the moral failings of the left isn't crying about the plight of the right. You forever complain that the left doesn't defend the injustices done to the right. That was my point. ted
