Three days before he died at the age of 83, my Dad went dancing with my mother. The band played several military hymns.

When they struck up the first bar of the Marine's Hymn, my father said "Stand up everybody! That's the National Anthem!"

Everybody stood up.

I have been hearing about the USMC birthday for three days from my Semper Fi friends.
It is always a fine drinking holiday.

Tomorrow is Veteran's Day.
I always take Vets Day off. The Marines do too.
