"I think the new constitution stipulates that there must be elections periodically," That doesn't really matter much, it's only an INTERIM 'constitution'... it lapses when a new government takes control after elections. Everyone admits that a new government would not be bound to it at all. (They will come up with their own constitution.) "You certainly know our position on governments that support terrorism, so if they chose to do that, it would be a bad career move for them." Agreed. But any Theocracy need not oppose the US in other lands (by supporting terrorism against us)... they will no doubt have their hands full for a long time with domestic affairs. And, we have ALREADY PROMISED that --- if the government asks us to leave, we will. "Even people who are not white like to be free." I never doubted it.
