To be honest with you, I don't want to discuss machine guns. I believe in the RIGHT to have them, but I believe the DESIRE to have them is destructive to OUR BROADER INTERESTS. In other words, proliferation of machine guns is a sure way to inflame our opposition. I would rather not throw scalding water on an already scalded cat. I would rather have the right and not use it than to use the right so aggressively that I lose it altogether in the long run.
