combjelly, Last time I checked, Kerry didn't run in 2000. Now I suppose you could theorize that Kerry would spring Saddam from prison and re-instate him, but that would be nothing more than just guessing. Sadly, it looks as if the Taliban is a factor in Afghanistan again, although only in the south and the east... Tactics that you criticize turn Taliban from a terrorist sponsoring government into "a factor ... in the south and east" and Saddam from a president to a prisoner. It produced the first democracy in Mid-East (outside of Israel) and may yet produce another. I can see about million possibilities how we could have done worse. Joe
