So perhaps we should wax enthusiastic about the bull market in Canadian bank deposits.... especially when the Canadian government seems intent on increasing interest rate returns.

Dude, that's why I put all my money in Canada! :)) Look at the loonie chart. [better lucky than smart.] Getting out of $US into gold, loonie, whatever, always made more sense to me than this notion that US stocks would rally with falling $US... OTOH, they've hung in there nicely [for now].
