Yes you are correct. The Dems will attempt to protect their lifestyles without regard to how effective it would be against a huge nontaxed underground economy.

It would be fair in that only those that can afford spending on items beyond necessity will be taxed.

That means the crack dealers with the Beamers...Jaguars etc ;) They would also get taxed. The luxury meals and hotel suites. All of these things foreign to the working poor.
