What about all the kurds outside the kurdish state? My fear is that it will get like the kosovo/serbia/albania problem. I dont think syrians would cede land but even if they did it would put pressure on iran and turkey to do the same which of course neither will do. It worries me down the road--one nation existing in four states and independent in only one.
In the kurd areas of the other three states what percent of population there is kurdish? Do the kurds in those areas accept iraqi kurds leaders as their own? If those numbers are really high and if leaders of iraq kurds are stronly approved of, it seems to me to be impossible to maintain the current situation or independent kurd option for too long. mike
