Technology such as body armor and field blood clotting agents have limited fatalities - but the survivors are often wounded beyond belief. It's not generally known, but the impact of a high velocity round from a military weapon such as the AK47 or M16 generally means the loss of a limb - or death in the case of a body or head hit. It's not like the movies where someone gets shot in the arm, slaps on a band-aid and continues on. A round leaving the muzzle at 3,000 fps inflicts horrible devastation. Hunting ammo, by comparison, exits at a third that speed.

Some were disemboweled in a search for swallowed gems. Bishops intoned blessings. Infidel lives were of no consequence. Approximately 130,000 women and children were turned into human torches, the fat in their bodies exploding as they writhed in utter agony. At the time, Yasser Arafat was 16 years old. You are being fed propaganda by 60 Minutes about Arafat. And you are gullibly swallowing it. He was nothing other than a convenient swarthy "enemy" exploited by propagandists to feed the fears of the dull-witted in America and to distract as many as possible from the really "evil" global terrorist, i.e. the U.S. government.
