"I think if they get a taste of a representative gov't like we have they will see that people can live together."

I suppose the Kurds and Sunni fundamentalists and Shiia will all be singing Kumbaya next.

Did it ever occur to you that 'Iraq' is an artificial nation, that was assembled by the British (without local input) from three separate Ottoman Provinces.... Maybe they want their OWN nations? (We already know for sure that the KURDS do... I'm betting the the Shiia and their historic oppressors the Sunni aren't going to be able to make it together, either.) The Sunni, influenced by Wa'habbist fundamentalism from Saudi Arabia, and historically descended from Arabian tribes who migrated in, have much more in common with Saudi Arabia then with Iran or the Kurds... and they are NOT going to be happy with a permanent minority status.

"Short of the leftists hating all who don't think their way, America is pretty tollerent of all races, religions and points of view"

We were talking about IRAQ.... You are not even on the right continent!
