How do you define predominant? Was Mother Theresa predominant? Certainly not in a political sense. Certainly so in a compassionate and spiritual sense.

People who are predominant in a political sense or with yearning for power are perhaps the worst subgroup of humans to evaluate a faith. If I said that I was a car, you wouldn't believe me. If I told you I had been through an automobile factory and that made me a car, you wouldn't believe me. If I told you I had slept in a garage and that made me a car, you wouldn't believe me. If Henry VIII told you he was a Christian, you'd believe him.

If your mind is already made up on this account, then I shouldn't trouble you or this board. If you have any intellectual objectivity to this question and even a hint of openness to this subject, I'd suggest you read Matthew Chapter 7 verses 13-29 in the Bible and see what Jesus said about this subject. I can't see how you could evaluate Christianity except by evaluation of Jesus himself. Christianity does not promise enlightenment, only forgiveness and restoration in exchange for repentance, faith and serving others. If a person's fruit doesn't bear witness to that, he's not a true Christian regardless of what he proclaims about himself.

Having said that, I've written enough. There are plenty of threads for religious discussions and this isn't one of them.
