Yes, exactly. For people with some familiarity or comfort with developing countries and associated business environment and risks, buying a well-valued company there may be a very good idea, especially if you know and trust the management. I'm not knocking the Philippines -- just pointing out that we could dredge the past of just about any country to find dirt. Like you and Ralph E. say, there is no inherent safety even investing in the US.
