It did for a while. And these were not hitlers but rather the 'good' people. Probably 'good' Christians.


No it didn't. For awhile it wasn't a tiny, near universally condemed, marginal force like it should have been and is now, but even at its peak the klan hardly had the support of the whole Bible Belt. Not all of the people in that area were racist, and most of the racists were not violent terrorist or at least quasi terrorist types.
