One of my buddy owns several apartments in Silicon Valley belt and he loves renting to Mexicans because they always pay rents on time, never late and never renege on their contracts. And when he needs fixing up and maintenance, he can always get it at very reasonable cost.

That doesn't change the fact that when you rent to one or two, six to eight end up living there.

I once met a small contractor who strongly prefers Mexican laborers because they work harder getting the job done, despite being 1/3 to 1/2 the size and weight of burly fatcat of seemingly stronger American (US-born) laborers.

I agree. I did apt. development for a while.........we used Mexican laborers as much as possible. They typically were good and less expensive.

My comments were not made to denigrate Latinos but rather to point out the problems that occur when they emigrate here. Many of them plan to go back so they move six to an apt so that they can send money back to family in their village. They are from rural areas so they are not equipped to deal with cities like LA or Chicago.

Its really a sad life. There wife and kids are back in Mexico.......they hope to get enough money to buy their own farm or auto garage back in Mexico. Often times, they are screwed by their American bosses esp. if they are illegal.......paid much less than they deserve.
