And the clinical corollary is that EPA has shown benefit in treatment refractory depression. There is a larger trial of EPA in adjunctive treatment of bipolar disorder underway at the NIMH I believe.

I've just finished reading an article on fats in the diet. I have no idea whether it's bunkum or not, since as everybody knows I am a science-illiterate. But I found it interesting because I did not realize how fats the supplement companies have trained us to regard as beneficial have multiple Jekyll/Hyde personalities.
