Yes -- I am a Canadian - discussed this eons ago it seems. My wife is American and most (almost all) of my family is American, mostly from / in Detroit, Idaho and Washington state areas. I've lived and worked in San Jose, Irvine, Dallas and New York and frankly I'm not sure that I identify with either country more than the other. The American-Canadian side of my family is mostly located in Alberta which tends to be pro US, not a surprise since many old-timers from the oil biz (my family and business connections are quite strong in the industry) are Americans.

As for unification, no, that won't ever fly but there are plenty of "continentalists" in Canada, mostly in Alberta but there are those in Oregon / Washington / British Columbia that favor some sort of Northwestern Union, economic or otherwise.

My views on it? Its just for grins.
