What I don't understand is who the fu_ck were the outside accountants and auditors verifying that all the sales for hardware, software, longterm contracts were all accounted according to general accounting rules and the like? Claiming sales in one qtr versus the next qtr or spreading out the numbers over time should be a pretty simple thing to notice and account for properly, no? Are accounting rules that vague that things can be easily interpreted so differently from one company to another and from one qtr to the next?
