Then why is it that after a giant volcanoe eruption which puts out more pollutants then all of Mankind in his entire existance the Earth cleans it up in less then two years? Volcanoes put out particulate. We do too but we also put out chemicals that weaken the ozone layer. That's where the real danger is. Large volcanoes have the potential of cooling the earth temporarily. The mess we are putting in the air has the potential of heating up the earth more permanently.
