Isn't California one of the states where murderers can't profit from the crime?

Does that apply to the lawyers of the murderers?

<<Isn't California one of the states where murderers can't profit from the crime? The victims' other family members get the money.>>

They had one of the defense team guys on WLS talking about the various appeals that will be filed. He was asked the money question and he said it would come from the book and movie rights. Maybe Peterson signed them over to his attorney before the trial.
