GZ -- thanks for the added info. It may help a few realize this is a REAL program that does a great deal of good. Also, the phone cards help guys contact family which helps them AND their family through this time. I was hurt 12/13/67 and arrived at the hosp in DC 10 days later. Thankfully, my parents were able to come down 12/26. They would have left the day I arrived in DC but had my younger brother & sister at home-- I insisted they stay home for Christmas with those two but it certainly was great to see them. They were able to eat at the hosp cafeteria at military rates and were given a room on at a very low cost. I was glad they could spend a few days with me and they were glad to know I was going to be OK. Some of these guys, like some of the guys I was with, have families too far away to get to them and the phone cards help. Luckily, my family was only 8 hrs away from DC...
