Iraqi and Iranian Shiite clergy are mostly competitors. This won't necessarily be the case:

The two dominant Shiite political parties, SCIRI and Dawa, have had close connections to Iran for many years, and are expected to take a large number of seats in the new Parliament. The Iranians will have considerable influence on any elected Iraqi government. Count on it.
