James > I'm beginning to wonder if there is method to Bush's madness.

Don't, he's just a criminal who pretends he's a saint. His agenda is simply theft. Theft from the Muslims and theft from the American people. And he has taken more from the American people than just their money -- he has taken their prestige and their good name.

> He wants to make the tax breaks permanent

Why not? He finances them by printing more money so he may as well dish the lolly out to his pals.

> I often wonder if he wants to crash the dollar and possibly introduce a new type of money (like they did when they introduced the Euro dollar)

Soon the USD will be "a new type of money" -- something like toilet paper, maybe?

> Greenspan once talked about this and I seem to remember he said it was the best way to stabilize currency.

Yes, well, what can I say? You can see for yourself how "stable" it is.

> Why else would he behave with such recklessness unless he truly is mad?

He's not mad, he's doing what he has to do. The US is going down the tubes, living in debt and trying to make up the shortfall by theft. Only it's a lot harder than his neocon "experts" believed it would be. In fact, the theft is costing a lot more in every respect than the US is gaining from it. But W is committed to "seeing it through" -- so it's going to cost even more than it has already, unfortunately.

I have had more scraps with the dear Lady than I can remember, so don't let it worry you. Takes all types to make a world.

Re: Why else would he behave with such recklessness unless he truly is mad?

Oh, George is not mad. He's simply a tyrant who wants to end all social programs for the middle class and the poor. If you haven't studied Grover Norquist's plan to wreck the economy in order to impoverish the middle class, you really do need to be paying attention now. Norquist is the key architect of Bush's domestic agenda. He's a very sick, very dangerous and very powerful man.
